Genovation GXE Electric Corvette
What happens when you take a Chevy Corvette C7, remove the 6.2L LT1 V8 engine and replace it with a permanent magnet dual stack motor? The all-electric Genovation GXE, and its electric motor generates an impressive 800 horsepower and 718 pound-feet of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Even with the heavy batteries that increases its weight to 4,400 pounds, or 1,000 pounds heavier than the standard C7, it’s still blistering fast. Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds was lucky enough to get their hands on a Genovation GXE and recorded the vehicle hitting 210 miles per hour. For comparison, the standard Chevy Corvette C7 can hit a top speed of 195 mph and the newest mid-engine Chevy Corvette C8 has a claimed top speed of 194 mph (312 kph). As you may have guessed, this electric version is at least double the price of its petrol counterparts.
