G&H Transport BMW Z4 NASCAR V8 Engine Mod
The 2006 BMW Z4 Coupe (E86) is fast straight from the factory with its naturally-aspirated 3.0L inline-six engine making 261 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, but it just wasn’t enough of Jimmy of G&H Racing. So, he swapped in a 5.7L V8 built by Hendrick Motorsports for NASCAR race cars, paired with a sequential gearbox.

With the new 5.7L V8 that sits behind the front wheels, this Z4 is now a front mid-engine race car that can rev up to 10,000 rpm – currently limited to 7,500 rpm. How much more powerful is it? Well, how about 590 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque, making it perfect for naturally-aspirated races. Aesthetically, it wears a widebody GT3 body kit from Germany-based Flossman that runs around $9,221 USD without paint or installation.
