Google’s Pixel Watch 5 Steps Into the Light With Four Sharp New Finishes

Fresh official-looking renders of Google’s next smartwatch have appeared online this morning, and they show the Pixel Watch 5 looking every bit as polished as the phones set to join it later this summer. The images come courtesy of longtime leaker OnLeaks working with a new site called The Tide Chart, and they lay out the full color lineup in clean, high-resolution detail that feels ready for a product page.

Four of the cases make the cut, beginning with Dark Anthracite, which appears like a matte black watch with a black band that keeps things very low-key. Natural Silver adds a hint of shine with a metal finish matched to a pale band that might appear greenish blue depending on lighting. Pyrite appears in a mellow gold tone and is paired with a deep green band that would be ideal for a trek. Warm Gold, on the other hand, achieves a polished effect with a coral or light pink band, albeit this particular combination is limited to the smaller 41mm size.

These colors appear to be consistent with the colorways hinted at for the Pixel 11 phones, so the watch and phone should complement each other well. The bands themselves are Active Band style, as previously, but now available in olive, canyon, and fog colors that complement the phone’s colour palette. However, when the additional colors are removed, the watch seems to be identical to previous Pixel Watches. The round face, softly domed glass, crown, and single button remain unchanged. There are no drastic redesigns or ultra slim profiles in sight. That continuity is a good thing since it means that anyone who already has a Pixel Watch 4 will feel perfectly at home when they put on the new one.


Several leaked images reveal a totally new watch face with an analog layout, delicate wavy patterns hidden under the hands, and a Gemini shortcut in the center. It appears that Google is quietly expressing a strong desire for its AI tools to be included into the overall wearable experience. Size options remain the same as before: 41mm and 45mm, with warm gold limited to the smaller case exclusively. That reduces the overall number of combinations slightly, but both Wi-Fi and cellular options are planned, with the cellular variants remaining at 4G LTE rather than 5G. Some older FCC filings also mention satellite support, which could be a nice bonus for when you’re out in the woods.


We have a feeling that the new pricing will not be as wallet-friendly as previous year. The 41mm Wi-Fi model is expected to start at $399, which is $50 more than the previous year. The 45mm Wi-Fi variant is an additional $30, priced at $429, while cellular devices might cost up to $499 or $529. These figures place the Pixel Watch 5 in the same pricing range as Apple’s newest. A wearable-class Tensor chip has also been referenced in earlier planning documents, which could potentially improve on-device performance and battery life over the Snapdragon hardware used in the Pixel Watch 4. Nothing we’ve seen so far verifies that upgrade, but the remainder of the package appears to be slated to be announced soon at the Made by Google event on August 12.
