The Hacksmith team built a plasma lightsaber nearly 3-years-ago, and now, they have followed it up with a cordless 4,000-degree lightsaber staff. Featuring a 6-foot hilt that houses 77 components, while the plasma blade comes from a butane mixture that is combined with oxygen. This fuel combo is regulated with valves and regulators to make the blade stable.
The fuel is then ignited by a pilot light and the flame flows through a nozzle that concentrates it into a beam. Inside the massive 6-foot hilt, you’ll also find electronic systems capable of controlling blade length, speed of extension and retraction, complete with sound effects.
