Honda S2000 Tesla Electric Conversion
Sure, there may have been other Tesla-powered Honda vehicles in the past, but this just might be the first S2000 making 500hp. Put simply, it started out as a standard 2007 Honda S2000 before its owner, Ryan, decided to convert it into an EV. The powertrain consists of a single large Tesla Model S P100D drive unit, paired with two Chevy Volt battery packs with a total of 38 kWh located underneath the hood.

There were some modifications that Ryan had to make on the Tesla Model S P100D rear motor, as the control unit needed to be swapped for one from AEM to rid of the Tesla updates that are released ever so often. This setup is then connected to a differential, the inverter, and then the Tesla motor itself. Yes, it’s currently being used as a street car and not saved exclusively for the showroom or racetrack.
