First, there was the Starburst House, now Jeep Japan has unveiled their very own modular, solar-powered container house designed for off-the-grid living. The idea is that you would be able to quickly pack up its foldable sides and move to another location without having to worry about disassembling anything.
When the weather permits, you can simply slide the barn doors open to enjoy the expansive views of wherever the container house is set up at. Shipping containers are naturally designed to be stacked in high columns and have the ability to carry heavy loads. Since many are used to transport items across the ocean, they can withstand harsh environments, making the perfect medium to build a home with, especially in a desert-like environment. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when or if Jeep Japan will start selling this container house.
