Joby Aviation Aero Electric Air Taxi Complete Test Flight
Joby Aviation’s piloted, four-passenger, emissions free all-electric aircraft successfully completed a 154.6-mile test flight on a single charge. It was controlled from the ground by Joby chief test pilot Justin Paines, and it completed 11 laps of the circuit at Joby Electric Flight Base at Big Sur, California, logging 1 hour 17 minutes in the air. The company’s ultimate goal is to start commercial passenger service using its air taxis by 2024, and said the aircraft is capable of transporting a pilot, along with four passengers at speeds of up to 200 mph. Toyota Motor Corp. is partnered with Joby Aero and both companies aim to revolutionize future transportation and life, delivering freedom of movement as well as enjoyment to customers everywhere.
