Not to be outdone by Caterpillar’s electrric mining truck, the Komatsu Power Agnostic 930E weighs in at a massive 320-tons and is built on the company’s modular power-agnostic platform. This will allow potential customers to future-proof their operations with a versatile approach to decarbonization.
Komatsu’s modular power-agnostic platform essentially allows users to start with conventional diesel engines and gradually transition to cleaner energy sources as needed, including battery technology, hydrogen fuel cell technology or a combination of energy systems. Future-proofing enables mining companies to make strategic investments in equipment that delivers strong diesel performance today while also supporting long-term sustainability by transitioning toward zero emissions.
