The Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 RS just might be the new king of the Nurburgring, and rightfully so. This is mainly due to the vastly modified aerodynamics that help it make more than 2,205 pounds (1,000 kilograms) of downforce at 177 mph (285 km/h).
Some of the aerodynamic mods include a larger spoiler lip with a new wing profile, redesigned wheel arch Gurney flaps, a spoiler lip that increases downforce on the front axle, and a rear window that has been completely replaced by a 25% lighter carbon fiber panel on which a carbon fiber shark fin is mounted. Spring rates of the semi-active coilover suspension have also been adjusted to handle the vastly higher downforce figures. Power still comes from a naturally-aspirated 4.0L V8 engine generating 518 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (PDK) with short gear ratios. How much? Well, the Manthey kit alone costs around $81,365 USD, and that doesn’t include the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

With the Manthey Kit, the 911 GT3 RS has improved significantly on the racetrack, especially on medium-speed corners. The car dives, pitches and rolls even less, offering a much more stable aerodynamic platform.
