Some may not fancy how the Xbox Series X / S look, but what if the same design were applied to Sony’s PlayStation? If Microsoft ever acquired its competitor, this is what one of their next-generation consoles could look like, courtesy of designer Ismail Mits. The Xbox Design Team says the console looks the way it does is because they were designed to fit in anyone’s home, as they are architectural in nature, have personality as well as a visual appearance that stands up over time. Yujin Morisawa, Senior Art Director at Sony, was the one responsible for designing the PS5. The design was the result of him trying to sculpt the invisible mass in between the player and the mechanical engineering, which resulted in the coining of the term “five dimensions”. He envisioned the experience that humans have, whether it be living in a parallel world or jumping around in time or space.
