There are foldable smartphones, and then the Motorola RIZR, which is a rollable smartphone concept that debuted at Mobile World Congress 2023. This device features a 5-inch pOLED display that can expand to a 6.5-inch screen with a 22:9 aspect ratio with a double tap of the power button.
Its polymer-based OLED screen is made by BOE and similar to other folding smartphones, it may only be good for up to 200,000 folds / rolls. No technical specifications have been released, although we do see a dual selfie camera array that appears when the screen is rolled down. Weighing in at 210g, it reportedly has a 3,000mAh battery, which should be good for all-day use before needing to be recharged. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
