Auto enthusiasts know that BYD and Tesla dominate the Chinese EV market, but that may soon change with the introduction of NIO’s Alps Onvo sub-brand. The L60 is expected to be the sub-brand’s first model and should be priced from around $27,800 USD.
From these spy photos, we can see that there does not appear to be a LiDAR sensor atop the prototype, but there are most certainly cameras on both sides of the windshield. This means that Onvo’s smart driving program will be based on a single NVIDIA Orin X chip, without using LiDAR. Whatever the case may be, we should know more in the coming weeks, as the sub-brand is expected to launch in Q3 2024, with deliveries starting during Q4.
