H/t: Car Scoops
This started out as a 2005 Pontiac GTO, but after tons of work, it became a Lamborghini Aventador knockoff that might actually fool some people on the road. It’s powered by a GM 6.0L LS2 engine that has been mildly tuned to produce around 500 hp, paired with a stock GM 4L60E transmission, so the vehicle actually has some kick to it, unlike many of the other supercar replicas.
Shifting is done through an electronic shifting mechanism, while the electric-powered rear engine cover and locking front hood pins can be controlled from center console. The power door actuators for opening either door are concealed within momentary switches on the exterior or the key fob. The driver claims everything runs perfectly, all the way up to 150 mph down the highway. Unfortunately, the rear engine cover, headers, etc. are just for looks.
It was not made using a chop gun that causes thin spots and weak areas from lack of fiberglass overlay. There is a crack in the fiberglass on the outside rear valances in back (as seen in photos) from when I unloaded it and caught the driveway with the corners. No other body damage. The front bumper is reinforced with 1″ thick fiberglass that is very stiff. The low coolant light comes on and goes off (as seen in picture next to odometer). I have no idea why, it is full on coolant. Doesn’t affect anything but its there,” said its current owner.
