Porsche Taycan Turbo S Nurburgring Record Tesla Model S Plaid
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S has officially set a new Nurburgring record, dethroning the Tesla Model S Plaid. Porsche development driver Lars Kern took just 7 minutes, 33 seconds to complete a full lap in the electric vehicle, which was fitted with the performance kit from Tequipment and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

What is the performance kit? It includes 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, while the Porsche 4D Chassis Control received a few upgrades from a software update. Porsche Tequipment is currently offering the performance kit to customers in Germany with the 2023 Taycan Turbo S for around €13,377 ($13,728). Straight from the factory, the 2023 Taycan Turbo S AWD comes equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system making 750 hp, enabling it to hit 60 mph in just 2.6-seconds. One caveat: it costs more than a Tesla Model S Plaid, as it the Taycan Turbo S starts from $187,400 USD.
