Samsung doesn’t usually surprise us with radical changes these days, but the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra manages to tweak the formula just enough to keep things interesting. Fresh CAD renders have surfaced and here’s what you can expect when it arrives in early 2026.
A flat screen takes up most of the front, with a single hole for the front camera in the middle. The edges of the display are flush and even, small enough to maximize the screen real estate while being discreet. The rounded corners make the phone more comfortable to hold during long scrolling or typing sessions. When you look at the sides, it’s business as usual: power and volume buttons are on the right, left side is clear. At the bottom, a USB-C port anchors the edge, flanked by the speaker grille and SIM card slot. The S Pen is tucked into the lower left, ready to be used.

The back is flat with only the camera module breaking the surface. Three lenses are stacked vertically within a raised module that protrudes about 4.5mm from the body – enough to be noticeable when the phone is placed on a table but not enough to wobble when in use. The fourth lens deviates from the group, sticking out from the plate, beside the flash and a sensor cutout. The aluminum frame is flat like the back, with slight bends at the edges to cradle your fingers. The S26 Ultra measures 163.4 x 77.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 217g, which is thinner than the previous model and may mean a more one-handed grip.

Inside is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, an improvement over the previous generation in terms of efficiency and raw speed for gaming and photo processing. In some regions, Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 will join the mix, just like before. Memory options include up to 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM, along with storage ranging from 256 gigabytes to a full terabyte using UFS 4.0 speeds—there is no place for additional cards, so plan accordingly. The screen is 6.9 inches from corner to corner and is encased in an M14 OLED panel that uses innovative layering technology to reduce reflections and trim the appearance. Resolution remains stable at 3120 by 1440 pixels, with a refresh rate that adapts from 1 to 120 hertz.

Cameras are all about consistency over flash. The main sensor is 200MP but with a larger f/1.4 aperture to capture more light in low light and optical image stabilization for steady shots. The 50MP ultra wide angle has a 120 degree field of view for panoramic shots, the periscope telephoto is 50MP and 5x zoom and punches above its weight. The basic telephoto is 10MP with a smaller sensor than before but 3x optical zoom for everyday zoom. Battery is 5000mAh and retains its capacity but may be easier to charge. Rumors suggest 60W wired charging (up from 45W) and 25W wireless under Qi2.2 – magnets in the frame should make alignment easy. Android 16 is the software side and is customized with One UI 8 or 8.5 and has full connectivity via 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. As usual, IP68 rating for water and dust.
