Sony Honda Mobility AFEELA Electric Vehicle
Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) unveiled the AFEELA electric vehicle prototype at CES 2023 today, and this joint venture hopes to open pre-orders for the production model in the first half of 2025. The prototype comes equipped with 45 cameras and sensors both inside as well as outside the vehicle, complete with 800 TOPS of maximum computing power for the ECU.

SHM teamed up with Epic Games to turn the interior space into an entertainment experience by seamlessly integrating real and virtual worlds. This will be achieved with help from Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Digital Chassis, which is also going to be used in key features including AD/ADAS, HMI/IVI, and telematics. The production model is aiming for Level 3 autonomy under limited conditions and Level 2+ driver assistance in everyday urban driving scenarios. Pricing has yet to be announced.
