Sony’s Xperia 5 successor appears to have been leaked ahead of Mobile World Congress 2020 in Barcelona, and it may pack a Snapdragon 765 chipset. A recent Geekbench test result surfaced with the name ‘K8220’, and since all of Sony’s 2019 handsets had a J designation, then K is the most logical letter for the 2020 phones. The said test shows an 8-core Qualcomm processor, the same identifier as found on the Oppo Reno3 Pro 5G, which wcomes with a Snapdragon 765G. Read more for additional pictures and information.
Since Oppo’s phone is compatible with the next-generation 5G networks, Sony’s just might follow suit, making it the company’s first 5G smartphone. The patent sketches reveal a device sporting a punch-hole camera, with the status icons displayed on both the top left and right sides. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
