Subaru BRZ GT300 Super GT Race Car
The factory Subaru BRZ isn’t designed to be a track car, but the automaker’s new BRZ GT300 most certainly is. No specifications have been revealed, but some are speculating that it will use a highly modified 2.4L flat-4, paired with a sequential transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. How much power is yet to be seen, though the 2022 Subaru BRZ’s 2.4L flat-4 generates 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Super GT cars are divided into two groups: GT300 and GT500. The names of these groups derive from their traditional maximum horsepower limit, or at least in the past. Currently, the GT500 powerplants produce in excess of 650 horsepower, while modern GT300 vehicles has a horsepower range of 400 to just over 550 horsepower; however, but with far less downforce than the former. The GT300 class is mainly composed of cars from European manufacturers such as Audi and Mercedes, although Lexus, Subaru, Nissan as well as Honda are also represented in the class by GT3 cars.
