Currently, the GT500 powerplants produce in excess of 650 horsepower, while modern GT300 vehicles has a horsepower range of 400 to just over 550 horsepower; however, but with far less downforce than the former. The GT300 class is mainly composed of cars from European manufacturers such as Audi and Mercedes, although Lexus, Subaru, Nissan as well as Honda are also represented in the class by GT3 cars.
