Tesla Model S Plaid 216MPH Top Speed
Elon Musk claimed the Tesla Model S Plaid could break the 200mph top speed barrier, but it hasn’t been seen on camera, that is…until now. Tesla released a ‘Track Mode’ for the Model S Plaid earlier this year, which enabled the vehicle to achieve 175mph, although it would take the work of Quebec-based tuner Ingenext to really fly past that number.

Guillaume André, CEO of Ingenext, took his Model S Plaid with modified software and attempted to break the top speed record at the Trois-Rivières airport in Québec, Canada. Aside from the software mod, the only other upgrade would be larger brakes from Mountainpass Performance and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. How does the Ingenext module work? It essentially bypasses the factory Tesla software restrictions, thus effectively voiding the warranty as well. Then there’s this Tesla Model 3 turned K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.
