Elon Musk also made a surprise announcement at the ‘We, Robot’ event tonight, and that came in the form of the Tesla Robovan. This fully autonomous electric vehicle looks to have drawn inspiration from the 1930s Art Deco trains and can transport up to 20 people at once, effectively making it a mini bus of sorts.
The Robovan will plug into the Tesla Network of the Cybercab and Model 3 / Y / X vehicles as well as the Cybertruck with unsupervised FSD. Unfortunately, Elon Musk did not reveal when the Robovan will get approved for testing on actual roads, but we imagine it coming after unsupervised FSD is released next year.

The Robovan is what’s gonna solve for high density. So if you want to take a sports team somewhere, or you’re looking to really get the cost of travel down to, I don’t know, 5-10, cents a mile, then you can use the Robovan,” said Elon Musk.
