While we may never see the Porsche GT Vision Truck in real-life, the Tesla Semi is now in production and set for its first delivery in December to Pepsi. This Class 8 semi truck is expected to be priced from $180,000 USD and can reportedly travel for 500-miles on a single charge.
The first delivery is just one of 100 vehicles that Pepsi ordered back in 2018, and even when fully loaded, the Tesla Semi is capable of accelerating from 0-61 mph in 20-seconds, thanks to three independent motors on its rear axles. Aside from Pepsi, DHL Supply Chain (10), FedEx (20), Sysco (50), UPS (125), Walmart (45), and Anheuser-Busch (40) have all ordered Tesla Semi vehicles.

Transportation is about 10% of our overall gas emissions, so it’s important, and we’re working on different solutions. We replace our fleet regularly, every ten years more or less. That’s the life of a truck. We’re already starting to buy electric trucks actually from Tesla. I don’t want to promote anybody, but that’s the brand that we’re using so far, and we’re getting our first deliveries this Q4. So it’s something we started a few years ago. We’re working with Tesla,” said Ramon Laguarta, CEO of PepsiCo.
