Xiaomi Folding Smartphone
Another day, another smartphone leak by technology reporter Evan Blass, and this time, it’s of a folding Xiaomi smartphone. When folded, the device looks like any other phone, but in seconds, it becomes a tablet-sized device that can be used to access Google Maps, YouTube, and lots more. Allegedly, the company has been working on a foldable smartphone since 2016, and several videos of a folding screen have been spotted over the years, but this is the first sighting of an actual working phone. This device is reported to be running Xiaomi MIUI software, and strangely enough, no camera, sensors, or earpiece speaker, are visible in the clip. It could just mean that this is either a prototype, or just that those components are hidden from view in a slider-type design.

“The device in the video might also use bone conduction rather than a speaker for the earpiece. The interface of the device when running what appears to be Google Maps is slick; when the side sections are folded the map automatically resizes to keep the same amount of data visible,” reports Hot Hardware.
