First seen at CES 2025 back in January, the Nekojita FuFu is basically a portable, cat-shaped mini-robot designed to cool down hot food and drinks by blowing air on them, perfect for anyone who can’t handle piping-hot stuff (what the Japanese call “neko-jita” or “cat tongue”).
Simply put, it clips onto the edge of cups, bowls, or plates and uses a built-in fan to blow cool air, mimicking how a person might blow on their food. It can lower hot water from 190°F (88°C) to 160°F (71°C) in 3 minutes and 151°F (66°C) in 5, compared to 176°F (80°C) and 171°F (77°C) without it.

Nekojita FuFu features a “Fu-ing System” algorithm that randomizes the blowing strength and rhythm to feel more human-like. It offers modes like “I’ve Got This!” (full-force blast) and “Not Gonna Spill” (gentler puffs), with potential future modes like “Look at That!” (gradually stronger) or “Sing My Praise” (short, strong bursts).

This little gadget is made of silicone with a rechargeable battery (USB-C), and is standalone, unlike heat-reducing mugs, so you can use it with any dishware while its cute cub-like look and “paws” add to the charm. Interested? You can pre-order on Kickstarter for around $25 USD, with shipments beginning in June 2025.
