2023 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV
It’s official, the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV has been unveiled, complete with 100% electric battery-based powertrain based on 800-volt technology, developed with cutting-edge technical solutions derived from Formula E. Power comes from three 300-kW permanent magnet motors drawing power from a 92.5 kWh battery that generate a combined 760 hp and 996 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.7-seconds.

What really stands out is the shape of its battery pack, known as a ‘T-bone,’ which forms part of Maserati’s “zero compromise” approach and avoids placing the battery modules under the seats. They can be found in the vehicle’s central transmission tunnel, thus considerably lowering the car’s H-point and gives it 50/50 weight distribution. Available in Q2 2023, priced from around $200,000 USD. We’re hoping that Maserati makes this hubless electric motorcycle a reality sooner than later.

2023 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV

We’re going to let buyers decide [whether they prefer the V6 or the EV]; we can scale production up or down depending on demand. We don’t want to influence our customers’ choice. This is one car for us. The GranTurismo is like a brand to itself; it’s the Maserati design king. We didn’t want to change the bumper and add fake stuff; we call it purpose for beauty,” said William Peffer, Head of Maserati’s North American division.
