Leaked Pixel 11a Renders Bring Purple Back With a Shorter Camera Oval

CAD files published this morning by Android Headlines, built with OnLeaks, give the first clear look at the Pixel 11a, Google’s next midrange phone, internally called Formosan. Anyone who has held a Pixel 10a will recognize the body almost immediately. Cameras sit flush with the back glass, the same flat treatment that arrived on last year’s A-series, and the frame stays within a hair of the old measurements.

The measurements are 153.46 by 72.35 by 9 millimeters. When compared to a Pixel 10a, which measures 153.9 by 73 by 9 millimeters, we have a somewhat smaller and slightly narrower phone, which you may notice on a spec sheet but probably won’t notice while it’s in your pocket. The most visible change is the redesigned camera cutout, which is shorter and more rounded than last year’s, and the flash remains outside the module rather than tucked away inside it. On the back, we have the same 48 megapixel main camera and 13 megapixel ultrawide as the 10a, but without the telephoto lens.

Four colors appear in the renders and a parts leak: black, silver, green, and purple. Trying to get the names straight yields Obsidian and Fog for the first two colors, while the green appears to be Olive or Pistachio, and the purple is Frost or Orchid. Google had a purple debacle a while back with the 2019 Pixel 3a’s faint “Purple-ish” and the Pixel 9a’s periwinkle Iris, so this new purple color appears to be much darker for the time being. We’ll have to wait for marketing shots to have a better idea of what it will look like.


The thick borders around the 6.3-inch screen are back, as they were on the 9a and 10a. While the flagship Pixel 11 variants have thinner borders, Formosan does not. The screen characteristics are pretty much business as usual, with 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of either 60 or 120 hertz, as well as a peak brightness of 3,350 nits, up from 3,000 nits on the 10A. The high brightness mode is now 2,250 nits, up from 2,000.

A leak from the Mystic Leaks channel in July reveals a larger alteration. It turns out that Formosan will be powered by the Tensor G6 chip, the same one used in the Pixel 11, but it will also employ a MediaTek modem instead of the one Samsung manufactured for the 9a and 10a, and it will include a Titan Google’s M3 security chip replaces Titan M2, and RAM remains at 8 gigabytes, which is quite standard. Regional model codes are G4XQ2 for North America, GP1BL for Japan, and GQ05X for everyplace else. Some of the leaks also reference a new front-facing camera sensor, which might be the same 10.5 megapixel device used in some of the base Pixel 11 models, although the details are unclear.


Battery capacity is specified as a minimum of 4,870 milliamp-hours, putting the rating somewhere near 5,100 milliamp-hours, which is consistent with how Google has started labeling some of the A-series phones recently. They accomplished the same thing with the 10a, which has a 5,100 milliamp-hour rating. Surprisingly, no information on charging speed has been released yet. On the software side, the Pixel 11a is expected to receive Google’s standard 7-year support, as have all subsequent Pixels, with Android 17 as the operating system out of the box.

Sales timing for the Pixel 11a appears to follow the same trend as the 10a. That one was released on February 18, 2026 and hit shelves on March 5. According to those who have been covering the latest renders, the 11a will be introduced somewhere in February or March of next year, with a spring selling date following. However, Google has not revealed anything regarding pricing yet. The 10a started at $499, while the base Pixel 11 cost $899. Until Google confirms the details, the only elements that remain consistent between the renders and the previous list are the short oval shape, purple finish, and the switch to the Tensor G6 processor.
