Hero’s Surge S32 can transform from a three-wheeled rickshaw to an electric scooter in minutes. It’s based on the company’s Advanced Modular Scaleable Electric Platform (AMSEP), which means the scooter has its own dedicated 3.5 kWh battery and a 6kW motor, while the rear section boastsan 11kWh battery pack connected to a 13kW motor.
The Surge S32 will be offered in four different variants, or rickshaw bodies. This means that each one will only be compatible with the AMSEP designed for that specific variant, including PD for two passengers behind the driver and LD with a pickup-truck-like cargo bed. The rickshaw has a top speed of 28 mph, or 37 mph if using just the electric scooter. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
