The all-electric Lucid Air production model was going to initially debut at New York auto show, but since that has been postponed, the automaker decided to continue with its 400-mile range tests. This one had them drive from the company’s headquarters in Newark, California to the Santa Monica Pier. Read more for the video and additional information.
After a short rest, and yet another charge, they drove the Lucid Air from Los Angeles to Crissy Field in San Francisco. According to Google Maps, both trips were over 400 miles and its “smart range” battery system aims for efficiency rather than maximum kilowatt-hours. A high-range model will ship with a 110.0-kWh pack located beneath the passenger area.
