It’s official, NIO has launched the ES6 midsize all-electric SUV in China. The vehicle is touted as an affordable “high-performance, long-range, [and] smart electric,” thanks to a dual-motor (a high-efficiency permanent magnet (PM) motor with 215 hp and an induction motor (IM) that produces 322 hp) setup generating a combined 536 hp and electric all-wheel drive in the range topping 84 kWh battery pack model. All of this is good for a 0-62 mph sprint time of 4.7-seconds, while topping out at 124 mph. The company claims the PM motor and IM motor setup saves costs and offers strong power. The range-topping 400kW version starts from RMB398,000 (around $57,600) with the 70kWh battery and RMB448,000 ($64,850) with the 84kWh battery. Orders can be placed starting December 15, with Chinese deliveries beginning in June 2019,” according to Car Scoops.
