When the Porsche Taycan meets the 918 Spyder, you get the Vision E, an all-electric hypercar that would fit right into a Formula E race. This was actually going to be a production vehicle and went as far as the 1:1 hard model development stage before being scrapped for unknown reasons. The design itself boasts a single-seat enclosed cockpit, along with a semi-open-wheel layout that exposes the mechanical parts to keep the weight down. Read more for additional pictures.
It would come equipped with Porsche’s 800-volt architecture that would enable you to charge the Vision E at a maximum of 270 kilowatts, which is capable of boosting it from 5 percent to 80 percent in just 22.5 minutes. One caveat: it requires a 350-kW high-output charging station to get this kind of charging speed. In comparison, it’s even more powerful than what the current Tesla Superchargers offer. On the bright side, Porsche promises to install 600 of these chargers across the U.S. by the end of 2020.
