It may not be an original, but this custom electric BMW 3.0 CSL looks just like the real thing, powered by a Tesla Large Drive Unit, mated to a Tesla battery pack. This electric classic car makes around 450 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, but is it enough to take on a tuned Ford Mustang GT?
CarWow wanted to find out, so they pit the 490 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque Ford Mustang GT against the all-electric BMW 3.0 CSL replica in a drag racing showdown. We won’t spoil the results, although we can say that the Tesla Large Drive Unit did give the BMW a huge advantage off the line as all 295 lb-ft of torque was instantly available for use. Now we can’t predict how either vehicle would fare against the Icon Derelict, a Tesla-powered 1949 Mercury Coupe.
