Samsung Display applied for a patent on March 14, 2019 at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for a ‘display apparatus and portable terminal’. The sketches show a smartphone with a flat display and four curved sections are arranged on all four sides of the device, this giving this possible Samsung Galaxy smartphone an extra large front surface that covers nearly the entire side of the device. Three of the four sides show a 90˚ angle, while the bottom shows a slight bend that extends just as far as the other three sides. The device’s antenna is incorporated directly into the display on both the top and bottom sections. Content can also be displayed on the curved display parts in the form of operating icons, making it perfect for notifications.
