Limited to just 25 vehicles worldwide and priced at $298K, the Shelby GT500CR Carbon Edition is exactly as it sounds, a carbon fiber-bodied muscle car. It’s 600-pounds lighter than the standard GT500CR, and powered by supercharged “Coyote” 5.0-liter V8 producing 810 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. These aren’t being made by Shelby themselves, but rather SpeedKore for the body and Classic Recreations putting everything together. However, Shelby American will store the finished vehicles and then distribute them to customers at their Las Vegas facility. Just one caveat, aside from the price tag: it takes 12 to 18 months to build one to your desired specifications, which includes adding stripes or special badging.
