There’s Hyundai’s in-car rollable display, and then the TECNO Phantom Ultimate, an interesting smartphone concept with an extendable screen. This is the first smartphone with a double-sided display, which means that it wraps horizontally around the back of the device to serve as a secondary screen.
When the device is extended, the double-sided screen rolls around to become one large 7.11″ on-cell AMOLED display. This innovative design lets users access information, notifications, or just use the rear display as a viewfinder for capturing selfies. Plus, the asymmetric book-roll design guides the screen’s direction as it unfolds, preventing accidental slips during extension. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
