At $6,057 USD, TheSoloist Sounds speaker by Takahiro Miyashita is one of the most unique audio creations that we’ve come across, as it was modeled after NYC’s famous Flatiron Building.
This 3.6-foot-tall speaker features a polycarbonate shell that is shaped like the landmark, while inside, 7 speaker units that generate an ultra-loud output of 2000W, complete with a wide frequency range of 20Hz ~ 25KHz. In real-life, the 22-story, 285-foot-tall (86.9 m) steel-framed Flatiron building can be found at 175 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, while this 55-pound speaker is sold out, despite its relatively high price tag. One interesting tidbit that some may not know is that the Flatiron Building was originally developed as the headquarters of construction firm Fuller Company, which acquired the site from the Newhouse family in May 1901.
